iLok Servers Down For Planned Maintenance Today - March 25th 2023

If you have opened your iLok License Manager recently, you may have noticed an alert at the top of the screen advising that the iLok Activation Service will be unavailable for up to 30 minutes later today. We have the details.

What Is Happening

There is more information on the live iLok Status web page, which provides real-time status information on the online services they provide. It says…

During this maintenance, iLok.com, activation, and new license deliveries will be unavailable. Users with open cloud sessions with licenses active in their sessions will be able to use those sessions to authorize their software. No one will be able to open a new cloud session or move a cloud session from one machine to another. Users will not be able to activate or deactivate licenses to or from a cloud session. Users will, of course be able to use iLoks with the licenses on those iLoks. This planned system maintenance has been fully tested and will help with system stability and our ability to update the system without downtime in the future.

When Will It Be Happening

They state that the outage will happen today, March 25th 2023, between 17:30 and 18:00 GMT, which is 13:30 to 14:00 EDT and 10:30 to 11:00 PDT.

What Won’t I Be Able To Do

  • You won’t be able to access new licenses in your iLok account and move them to your iLoks.

  • You won’t be able to open a new iLok Cloud session or move an iLok Cloud session from one machine to another.

  • You won’t be able to activate or deactivate licenses to or from a cloud session.

What Will I Be Able To Do

  • You will be able to use your hardware iLoks and the licenses on those iLoks attached to your computer.

  • If you have an active iLok Cloud session with active licenses in your session, you will be able to continue using those sessions to authorise your software during the outage.

Our Advice

For the vast majority of users, this outage will not affect you. However, if you are planning sessions and usually keep your licences in the cloud, you may want to move them to a physical iLok for the duration of this outage.
