New Pro Tools Pricing Confirmed

We recently reported an email from Avid which notified users of “planned price adjustments” on software and maintenance products planned for May 1st. In that email Avid explained that as a part of reshaping the organisation they had determined that adjusting pricing for software subscription and annual maintenance of various software and hardware products is necessary.

We understand that this email was specifically meant for customers with more complex contracts but was sent to some Pro Tools customers in error, causing a degree of speculation online. Avid are going to contact other Pro Tools customers affected by these changes closer to the time of their renewals with additional information.

We reached out to Avid for more information about the specific Pro Tools price changes and can report that:

  • Pro Tools Studio month-to-month subscription pricing (new and renewals) will be rising from $29.99 to $34.99 starting on May 1 2024, a 17% increase

  • Pro Tools Studio annual-paid-monthly subscriptions  - Avid have not sold new annual-paid-monthly subscriptions since the beginning of 2023 but existing renewals will also be $34.99 starting on May 1 2024. This will only go into effect upon the customer’s annual renewal date.

  • Pro Tools Studio Annual Subscription price (new and renewal) is unchanged at $299

  • Pro Tools Ultimate Monthly subscription price (new and renewal) is unchanged $99.99

  • Pro Tools Ultimate annual-paid-monthly subscriptions - Avid have not sold new annual-paid-monthly subscriptions since the beginning of 2023 but existing renewals will also be $99.99 starting on May 1 2024. This will only go into effect upon the customer’s annual renewal date.

  • Pro Tools Ultimate Perpetual Upgrade Plan will rise from $399 to $499 effective May 1. A 25% increase. For current customers this will only go into effect after their annual renewal date

This list doesn’t reference every Pro Tools product. If your product isn’t listed there are no changes.
