PreSonus Revelator USB Microphone - Tested

In this video for Production Expert, Brent puts Revelator to the test and closes with a comparison to a more expensive microphone (that he uses to record all of his content).

Introduced in late 2020, PreSonus Revelator is a bus-powered, USB-C-compatible microphone that comes packed with presets, loopback audio, selectable polar patterns and equipped with the same EQ and compression algorithms found in its StudioLive Series III mixers.

Three selectable polar patterns include cardioid, suited to voiceovers and performances where only a single voice is captured, a figure-8 pattern for recording multiple voices, and omnidirectional pattern to record sound all the way around the mic.

The mic provides two stereo streams for loopback audio for applications like Skype and Zoom, recording live gameplay, or audio in a YouTube video. Loopback allows users to mix and record audio from two different applications on a computer, along with their voice, simultaneously using the accompanying interface - Universal Control. There's monitoring built-in too, and an onboard headphone amp means you can perform, listening and mix in real-time.

Revelator comes packaged with an integrated desktop stand with built-in cable management, and an adapter for connecting to most industry-standard mic stands. The mic connects easily with Windows and macOS computers, and Android and iOS tablets.

Finally, Revelator includes PreSonus Studio One Artist recording and production software and the Studio Magic Software Suite.
