Review - 2016 Stereo Room Reverb Plug-in By Eventide

In this review, Pro Tools Expert Deputy Editor Dan Cooper takes a look at the 2016 Stereo Room reverb plug-in by Eventide.

I was on a bit of a mission to try all of Eventide's reverb plug-ins in 2016 and somehow I completely overlooked the 2016 Stereo Room. Watch the video to hear how The 2016 Stereo Room plug-in performs on an acoustic guitar, lead male vocal and harmonica in a track written by artist James Hodder.

What Is The 2016 Stereo Room By Eventide?

The 2016 Stereo Room reverb is a straight forward room simulator plug-in that I feel produces very transparent room like ambiences. The front to rear positioning dial is the standout control for me as it helped me to sit several tracks in a mix in a subtle three dimensional way. To my ears, the reverb sounds very natural and transparent with little in the way of distinctive colour or character... and I like that as room reverbs should be subtle, not distinctive. This isn't a reverb with a variety of reverb types, no, this plug-in is one room with a set of controls to shape the room and I think sounds great.
